LORNA PRYCE
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna Pryce at St. Boniface Hospital after a two month illness.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gary, and her two sons, Michel (Robyn), grandson Matthew and Terrell (Helen), granddaughter Raina and grandson Indie, her brother Bill Ste. Marie of Maple Ridge, BC and her niece Leslie Ste. Marie of New Westminster, B.C.
As a teenager Lorna taught swimming for the Red Cross and, after graduating from Teachers College in Winnipeg, taught school, first in rural Manitoba then in the Yukon. In 1962, she applied for a teaching position in London, UK where she was accepted. But the travel bug had already bit her. After travelling around Europe, she became the nanny to the daughter of a diplomat’s family and worked for them in London, Geneva, Switzerland and finally Milan, Italy. During this time, she learned French and a smattering of Italian.
She returned to Canada and was hired by Air Canada (TransCanada Airlines) in 1966 as a ground hostess because of her languages. Here she met many lifelong friends as a member of Team A including her future husband. She retired in 1999, then devoting her time to volunteering as a member of the Board at Middle Church home as well as spending as much time as possible at her beloved childhood cottage at Brereton Lake. Her love of travel continued, and she took many trips with her family and friends all over the world. She loved animals, donating regularly to the Humane Society and will be overjoyed to be reunited with her cherished Noosa. She also loved gardening and spending time outdoors with her grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

My sincere condolences to Gary, Michel, Terrell and their families. Lorna was a great friend to Lil and I and Lil had great respect for her as a coworker! Dearest Gary, Michel and Terrell and families. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Lorna. My father worked with both of you at AC, and I had the privilege of knowing her as such a loving, generous soul with smile like radiant sunshine. Auntie Lorna and Uncle Gary were so thoughtful and brought gifts from far away travels for me, but the biggest gift of all was going out to the lake as a child, many many times, which is where I was exposed to more nature than I ever had growing up in Winnipeg. Those times are cherished memories for me and her kindness, love and sense of humor was so contagious. I always thought of her like a real Auntie! The last time I saw you both was at my Mother's celebration of life, which meant the world to me. I have thought about her and Gary so much lately and wanted to get in touch recently, but didn't know how. Please accept my sincere condolences to you all during this difficult time.
